Assistant/Associate Professor of Business Administration
Job Description
Simpson University is seeking a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor in the Business Department to teach Accounting and assorted Business Management courses beginning in the Spring of 2025, pending budgetary approval. Candidates who apply should be creative, innovative, and cognizant of cutting-edge business management and accounting technologies in emerging fields. The successful candidate will have expertise in accounting and business management content and will be able to teach students how to work with accounting software, spreadsheets, financial websites, and integrated payment systems. Personal relationship with Jesus, a vibrant Christian faith, and a commitment to Christian community; capable of sharing faith and engaging in conversations about Christ.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Teach twelve (12) hours or three (4-unit) classes each semester;
- Assist with curriculum and program development;
- Advise, audit, and mentor students;
- Hold a minimum of five (5) office hours per week for students;
- Attend department meetings and professional development activities;
- Ensure the timely completion of assessments, grades, and other
Education/ Experience:
- Doctorate degree in accounting, finance, or management, PhD/DBA is preferred; however, an appropriate master's degree will also be considered.
- Experience with multimedia instruction and related technology is a must;
- Evidence of successful teaching experience in higher education preferred;
- Successful experience with traditional in-person, hybrid, and online instructional modalities;
- Strong organizational, planning and coordination skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills and a spirit of enthusiasm and energy needed to interact with a diverse student population;
- Experience with academic advising and degree auditing preferred;
- Strong written and oral commwrication skills, and a knowledge of learning management platform such as Canvas and other technologies.
