Intraoperative Neuromonitoring Tech - 132367

Job Description

DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of a supervising neurophysiologist, the Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM) Technologist work alongside neurophysiologist and other physicians in the hospital during surgical procedures, monitoring the nervous system to reduce or avoid complications. Responsibilities include performing recording and monitoring in a variety of cases, such as brain and brainstem procedures for tumors, orthopedic spine procedures for scoliosis, and vascular surgery for aneurysm; aiding in patient preparation, conducting IONM (protecting the nervous system) and following up to ensure quality of care. Additionally, the IONM Technologist may be asked to provide support to inpatient EEG service for EEG and other evoked potentials, and performs other duties as assigned. All performance expectations associated with this position are to be performed at a journey-level.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • ABRET CNIM qualified, acquired within two (2) years of hire date, and maintenance of certification.

  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.

  • Two (2) years of experience in surgical neurophysiology practicing at the CNIM level.

  • Demonstrate competency in EEG, live EMG, triggered EMG for neural element stimulation, SSEP, tcMEP, T04, and AEP for all patients.

  • Competence in programming the necessary related equipment (Cadwell).

  • Comfortable performing multimodal monitoring in complexspine, brain/brain stem, and vascular surgeries.

  • Required to meet educational requirements:
  • CAAHEP Diploma OR

  • Current R. EEG T or R. EP T. OR

  • Bachelor's Degree (higher degree acceptable) OR

  • Certificate of completion from ABRET recognized program

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • DABNM, REEG, REPT.
  • BA/BS; MS, PhD level education and/or other allied health degree or certification.
  • Advanced capabilities including Electrocorticography (ECoG) with strips/grids, central sulcus localization, stimulation protocols for brain mapping (awake language and awake/asleep motor including continuous intracranial MEPs), DBS neurophysiology, peripheral nerve evaluations including the ephaptic response, and brainstem/spinal cord stimulation/mapping.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $118,223 - $147,058 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $56.62 - $70.43

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
