Salary range: The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $124,100- $300,000. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. Position description

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery within the School of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego (http://ortho.ucsd.edu/) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body is seeking highly qualified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) physicians for outpatient positions focused on treating orthopedic patients with musculoskeletal conditions.

The primary emphasis of this role is on our spine program, and the successful candidates will be required to manage spine patients and perform standard interventional spine procedures (such as epidural injections, medial branch blocks, and radiofrequency ablation). The successful candidates will also engage in advanced spinal interventional procedures.

Additionally, the selected candidates will perform other procedures, including EMG and peripheral joint injections. While the primary focus is on non-operative outpatient spine care, there is also scope for inpatient consults and inpatient care for those interested. The selected candidates will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, teaching, and research at our various UC San Diego Health locations.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, DO, or MD/PhD, in health-related fields.

Candidates must have completed an ACGME-accredited residency training program in physical medicine and rehabilitation.

Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.

Candidates must have or be eligible for a California Fluoroscopy supervisor and operator permit certification/permit as determined by the California Department of Public Health.

Candidates must have or be eligible for certification by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Preferred qualifications

Candidates who have completed fellowship training in non-surgical spine care are preferred.

Candidates with a minimum of two years of clinical experience beyond fellowship training are preferred.
