Please note that this position is a part-time appointment
The job will integrate into the clinical, teaching, research and distribution system for UC San Diego Health and the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. These activities include but are not limited to: Profile review, TPN order writing, Pharmacokinetics, Renal Drug Dosing, Medication Reconciliation, Chemotherapy Order Review entry and validation in our Beacon Chemotherapy Electronic Medical Record, Precepting Pharmacy Students from the Skaggs School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, precepting UC San Diego Health PGY1 and PGY2 Pharmacy Residents, Investigational Drug support and other activities that optimize outcomes of drug therapy.Under general supervision, responsible for provision and documentation of medications and medication-related services to patients, according to standards established by the Department of Pharmacy. Serve as preceptor to pharmacy residents and students as assigned. Participate in Medical Center and Departmental committees and promote institution-wide medication use policy.
Depending on experience of the selected candidate, this position will be hired at the Stf Pharm1 or Stf Pharm2. Less than four (4) years experience qualifies as Stf Pharm1; Four (4) + years of experience qualifies as Stf Pharm2.
Registered Pharmacist license issued by the state of California (RPH).
Doctorate of Pharmacy degree or equivalent clinical experience.
Pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of pharmacy state and federal regulations.
Supervisory skills to include workload management; ability to operate computer systems; demonstrated teaching skills and writing skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing and be able to articulate complex ideas for all levels of audiences.
- Serve as a preceptor to pharmacy residents and students as assigned; participate in Medical Center, Cancer Center and Department of Pharmacy committees and promote institution-wide medication use policy.
- Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center's business needs.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $198,297 - $198,297 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $94.97 - $94.97
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
