About the Role:

Our dynamic team is seeking an enthusiastic, collaborative, and experienced biophysical/SPR scientist to support our early antibody and peptide discovery programs using label-free technologies, such as Biacore and Octet BLI, to measure binding affinities, off-rates, and perform epitope binning and competition experiments. The successful individual will work in a cross-functional setting to execute assays to deliver robust and high-quality decision-making data. This laboratory position requires excellent scientific, technical and laboratory skills, strong organizational and communications skills, and enthusiasm in contributing to a fast-paced organization focused on discoveries of novel and differentiated therapeutic candidates.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):
  • Utilize your experience with Biacore SPR and Octet BLI methodologies to execute and analyze SPR and BLI experiments to determine antibody/peptide affinity (KD), kinetics, epitope binning, pH dependence and dual-target engagement of monospecific and bispecific antibodies, scFv, Fabs and peptides

  • Apply your extensive knowledge of Biacore Insight and Octet Analysis software for data analysis

  • Apply QC parameters to data and perform basic troubleshooting as necessary

  • Prepare high-quality data reports and presentations for project meetings

  • Perform regular maintenance of SPR and BLI instruments

  • Collaborate with scientists in a highly matrixed environment across multiple therapeutic areas and functional teams

Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree in scientific field and 2+ years of in vitro pharmacology experience; Preferred experience includes: SPR and BLI for characterizing protein-protein interactions and binding kinetics, related assay development and troubleshooting OR

  • MS/MA degree in scientific field and some relevant industry experience OR

  • PhD in biology or related field preferred and some experience with antibody drug discovery, antibody characterizations, assay development and optimization and related troubleshooting, experience with SPR and BLI is required. Preferred experience includes: SPR and BLI for characterizing antibody-protein interactions with strong assay development and troubleshooting skills

  • Experience with measuring antibody/protein binding kinetics, pH dependent and dual engagement binding studies using Biacore SPR and Octet BLI methods

  • Experience with obtaining epitope binning and binding/competition binding studies using Octet BLI methods

  • Ability to QC and troubleshoot experiments

  • Collaborative and highly motivated

  • Excellent knowledge of scientific principles, methods, and techniques

  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Strong computer skills and experience with Prism, Excel, Word, etc

  • Good communications, problem-solving, analytical thinking skills

  • Detail oriented

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Good project management skills
