The University at Buffalo, State University of New York, is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral associate in genomics to join the Buck Lab in the Department of Biochemistry.
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative postdoctoral researcher to join our team investigating the mechanisms of transcription factor (TF) binding to nucleosomal DNA. This position is supported by a funded MIRA grant focused on understanding how TFs, particularly pioneer factors, engage with inaccessible chromatin regions and initiate gene regulation.

- Design and execute experiments using Pioneer-seq and genomics assays (e.g., ChIP-seq, ChIP-exo, MNase-seq, HiC, RNA-seq)
- Analyze high-throughput sequencing data and contribute to computational modeling of TF binding

Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or a related field.
- Experience with cell culture and genomic approaches.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong background in transcriptional regulation, chromatin biology, or epigenetics.
- Familiarity with computational tools for genomic data analysis is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
Physical Demands
Requires remaining in a stationary position, moving, and operating for prolonged periods, demonstrating stamina and coordination, along with the dexterity to operate small instruments such as pipettes. Must be able to position self (e.g., bend, stoop, and reach) and transport objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Salary Range
$50,000 - $65,000Additional Salary Information
The salary range reflects our good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, the role and associated responsibilities, and the experience, education, and training of the selected candidate.Work Hours
