The Management, Human Resources and Information Systems Area in the Orfalea College of Business at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure-track, academic year position as Assistant Professor in the primary area of Organizational Behavior/Human Resources Management. Interest and ability to teach both undergraduate and graduate (MBA) level classes is desirable. The ideal applicant could also teach human resources management courses, including specialized courses such as people analytics, employment law, or compensation. The position is designed to strengthen Cal Poly’s on-going efforts in enhancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) climate, thus the candidate is expected to incorporate a DEI emphasis in instruction, research, and service.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate must have completed a doctorate or equivalent degree in Organizational Behavior or Human Resources Management, or a closely related field from an AACSB or equivalent accredited institution. The Ph.D. should be awarded by the time of appointment in Fall 2025. Applicants are expected to show evidence of exemplary teaching and strong research appropriate to their level of service. Applicants must have the ability to work with diverse students and engage diversity in the curriculum. Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language is required.

The ideal candidate will show evidence of attention to issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion across their teaching, scholarship, and service. The ideal candidate will show evidence of exemplary teaching, strong research appropriate to their level of experience, and currency in their professional field. Preference will be given to candidates who have interest in teaching specialized courses in human resources management such as people analytics. Preference will also be given to those with relevant work experience and those who bring professional capabilities.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
Following a conditional offer of employment, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
