Job Description
Position Summary
Victoria College's Workforce & Continuing Education Department is accepting applications for a Computer Instructor to work at the Victoria campus on an as needed basis.
Duties & Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide instruction to students in a meaningful classroom learning environment
- Maximize available resources to ensure a quality learning experience
- Maintain course documentation (rosters, student evaluations, certificates of completion) for the course
- Work with Workforce & CE staff to ensure efficient and effective operations
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Workforce & Continuing Education
Qualifications
Required
- Associate Degree or five years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent human relations and communications skills
- Ability to relate to college staff and students in a positive, courteous, and tactful manner
- Display discretion in matters concerning confidentiality
- Ability to work a flexible schedule (evenings, weekends) to accommodate client/program needs
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel off-campus
- Strong background in teaching computer literacy.
- College teaching or training experience
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle controls, key pads, etc. Will be required to sit and reach with hands and arms as well as, sit, stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds while loading office supplies and paper. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, some color vision, and the ability to adjust focus from documents to computer screen. Hearing of light to moderate sound is required by this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
