JOB PURPOSE
We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer II to support Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific systems development, systems engineering, systems integration, operations, Test and Evaluation (T&E), systems performance and characterization evaluation, systems analysis and provides technical expertise of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems, Cybersecurity, and Intelligence (C6I) and Interoperability for the U.S. Navy (USN), Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and Sea-Based Weapon System (SBWS) Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) for Space Layered and Integrated Air Missile Defense (IAMD) T&E operations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY

JOB RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY
- Maintain configuration management of all Missile Defense (MD) Test & Evaluation (T&E) systems and software
- Support the management of unclassified plant property and classified material
- Perform duties an Authorized Courier personnel approved to escort or hand-carry classified information up to Secret
- Design and build unclassified & classified T&E computer systems and related infrastructure
- Conduct pre-installation and post-installation checkouts and testing of computer systems and related infrastructure
- Perform hardware maintenance in support of the evaluation of system interoperability for various unclassified and classified T&E computer systems analysis.
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain/repair test tools, in support of T&E events, to include the Data Link Test Tools (DLTT), Link Monitoring and Management Tool (LMMT), Network Systems Integration and Test Environment (NSITE), Command Data Link Management System (CDLMS)/Next Generation C2P (NGC2P), Re-hosted C2P (RC2P), C2P Technology Refresh (C2PTR), C2P Modernization (C2P Mod) and related programs
- Evaluate T&E data network video-technology hardware and software for concept, operational, functional, and performance requirements
- Evaluate interface requirements, identify and resolve interoperability problems with various communication equipment, to include, Voice-Over-Internet-Protocol (VOIP), Clear Communication (Clear Com) digital voice user stations and server, and Secure Terminal Equipment (STE)
- Perform Systems Administrator duties as assigned to include resolving network issues; building, configuring, testing and troubleshooting laptops and workstations; performing Tech Refresh activities; and assisting in maintaining an up to date cybersecurity posture with all of the MD ATE network-enabled assets.
- Fabricate/configure, integrate, and/or maintain/repair the data, video, and voice cables, necessary to test the interface of the system/subsystem/equipment/unit being installed with the existing systems currently connected to the various test data networks. The required cables include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Fiber optic multi/single mode cables with SC, ST, and LC connectors
- Cat5/5e and Cat6/6e network cables with RJ-45 connectors
- MIL-STD 1553 data bus cable
- Inter-Range Instrumentation Group B (IRIG-B) and RG-58 co-axial cable
- UHF, SHF, and EHF Satellite communications antenna cables with Type-N, BNC, SMA, and TNC connectors
- Serial cables including RS-232, RS-422, RS-449, and RS-530
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- This position requires an existing U.S. Government DoD granted security clearance/eligibility at the final Secret level. Individual must be able to maintain the required security clearance/eligibility for continued employment. U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Bachelors in related field (i.e. networking, computer science) preferred.
- 4+ years working with KVM technologies such as Extron and Raritan systems
- Computer/Networking/Cybersecurity certification(s) such as CompTia A+, Network+, Security+
- 7+ years working in a DoD environment of installing/de-installing and testing C4ISR, C5ISR and C6ISR equipment and associated peripherals
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to properly utilize safety equipment/tools and ability to adhere to safety regulations when moving or transferring equipment/material over 50 lbs
- Must have the ability to support missions during regular working hours (6:00 AM to 6:00 PM) and irregular working hours (6:00 PM to 6:00 AM) seven days per week. On occasion mission test windows may last up to 12 hours.
